When the game first started being downloaded onto phones all around the world, the only Pokemon available for catching and collection were from the first generation of games but now, after long months of waiting, the second generation has been released to the players. Along with the new Pokemon available for catching, the newest update comes with a few more changes as well. One of those changes being how some Pokemon evolve; depending on who you’re trying to evolve, you may need a specific stone instead of a massive amount of candy like you needed before. The eggs for the second generation are also a new set of colors than the last.
Upon initial release, the game received mixed reviews with a lot of people praising the way the game puts the player in the outside world, while others were getting peeved at consistent technical issues and crashes. The game won awards for being the best mobile/handheld game, and also the game award for being the best family game. It has close to 20 million daily users and has been downloaded over half a billion times.
Pokemon is a massive brand and media franchise that originated way back in 1995 and is brought to us by the companies Nintendo, GameFreak, and Creatures. Pokemon started off as two sole video games for the Nintendo GameBoy and since then the franchise has seen multiple generations of video games, as well as an immensely successful cartoon television show with some movies here and there.
